Recording Biodiversity

Writer's picture: Neil ReedNeil Reed

Whilst we are out and about doing reptile monitoring we also spot many other species, Our aim is to catalogue all of the flora and fauna we find in the Country Park, Its a never ending project but there is always something new to log, today was a Cuckoo, we have seen everything from Seals to Ravens, Birds, Butterflies, Plants and Insects. These are all logged onto a database which is shared with the National Biodiversity Network.

Sightings are extremely important as it builds up a picture of where species are, Locally on the Isle of Wight we have an organisation called I watch Wildlife who would be happy to hear about your sightings too.
