The Great Stag Hunt is on

Writer's picture: Neil ReedNeil Reed

Really excited that the presence of Stag Beetles in Fort Victoria Country Park has been reconfirmed after a member of the public, Graham Chubb found an adult Male Stage Beetle in the park on the 4th June, and reported the finding to the local paper, see here for article - https://www.countypress.co.uk/news/20187844.endangered-stag-beetle-spotted-isle-wight-country-park/

Every year during the stag beetle season we do transect walks looking for the Stags but so far they have eluded us! So its amazing news that someone has seen one.

Just a reminder that if you do see one in the park it would be great if you could email us at the reptilarium with the sighting, giving time, date, location and a photo so we can keep a record of the sightings and share the data with the relevant organisations.
